Hydrangea - is a genus of flowering plants in the family Hydrangeaceae. There are more than 100 species in the genus, which is native to eastern Asia, but cultivated in temperate regions worldwide. The name "hydrangea" comes from the Greek words for "water" and "to bear," likely referring to the plant's ability to thrive in damp conditions. Most hydrangeas are shrubs that grow up to 6 feet tall. Their flowers are usually white, blue, or pink—although there are some rare species with other colors!

Hydrangeas have five petals instead of four like most flowers do. The leaves of the hydrangea can be green (like most plants), or they can be variegated with different shades of blue or purple depending on the species of plant you have growing in your garden! Also, many hydrangeas have white blooms with colorful leaves surrounding them!

Roses consist of five petals and one long stem that connects all the petals together at their base. The stem is called a peduncle, while the individual petals are called sepals. The sepals protect the flower bud before it blooms. Once the rose opens up into a full bloom, its center consists of multiple pistils (which are actually stamens), which produce pollen that fertilizes other plants' eggs to make seeds!

Roses are also unique because there are so many different types! There are over 100 different species of roses, and even within each species there's lots of variation between plants. Some types have large petals while others have smaller ones; some produce more fragrance than others; some have deep reds while others are lighter or brighter hues like pink or yellow.
